User Guide of Magento 2 Image Clean Extension

After installation of the extension, make sure the setup is upgraded and static-contents are deployed. Login to the admin panel and flush your Magento cache storage.

At the back end, go to FME EXTENSIONS > Configurations. Here You can find the following settings:

Product Image Cleaner Settings

  • Included File Types: Specify file types for unused product images which you want to delete (Note: For Multiple file types, please separate them with a comma)
  • Excluded Folders: Specify folders for product images which you want to exclude (Note: For Multiple folders, please separate them with a comma)

Category Image Cleaner Settings

  • Included File Types: Specify file types for unused category images which you want to delete (Note: For Multiple file types, please separate them with a comma)
  • Excluded Folders: Specify folders for category images which you want to exclude (Note: For Multiple folders, please separate them with a comma)
  • Category Image Related Attributes: Choose attributes to remove the category images based on selected attributes

Specific Folders Image Cleaner Settings

  • Included File Types: Specify file types for unused folder images which you want to delete (Note: For Multiple file types, please separate them with a comma)
  • Select Folders: Choose folders from which you want to delete unused images (Note: Images for Selected Folders will be Displayed in Grid)

Cron Images Cleaner Settings

  • Resource to Clean: Specify the resources from where you want to delete the images

    • Image files that do not belong to any product
    • Image files that do not belong to any category
    • DB record related to a product's non-existing image file
    • DB record related to a category's non-existing image file
  • One-Time Limit: Enter the total number of images which you want to delete at a time (Note: The entered limit value is separate for all above resources)

  • Enable Scheduled Clean: Select Yes/No to Enable/Disable scheduled cleaning of images. If you select ‘Yes’, then the following field will appear:

    • Add Item Cron Expression: Enter the Cron expression here. Visit this link for checking more expressions https://crontab.guru/#_*_
  • Clean Manually: Click on the Clean Now Button to delete the images manually

Export Settings

  • Attributes to Export: Choose the attributes for orphan images to export in the CSV file
    • File Path
    • File Name
    • Added At
